READY TO LEARN – ROTARY HELPING CHILDREN

The 41 primary schools in North Canterbury educate around 10,200 children, but more than 1 in 10 of them struggle to participate because of family financial constraints and 600 children do not even attend school regularly for similar reasons.

The "Ready to Learn" fund is managed by the Rangiora Rotary Club and the North Canterbury Principals' Group, and allows schools to make grants to individual children for:

* School clothing & footwear * Stationery for school * School camp fees

* School activities  * School sports *  Specialist educational support

e.g. school uniform can cost $155, stationery for school $35, and school camp fees $185.

How can you help?

Buy our spring flowering bulbs  - through the stall outside New World Rangiora (Saturday mornings) or by email. These make excellent gifts for birthdays or Easter and will brighten up any plant pot or garden in Spring. These are quality bulbs from quality suppliers.

·       Tulips,  Daffodils, Bluebells and Snowflakes are each 10 bulbs per bag

·       Freesias are 15 bulbs per bag

All bags cost $10 each and bulbs should be planted before the end of May. See our next website page if you need planting instructions (or any other gardening guide).
